Fox News’s Neil Cavuto will be leaving the network, reportedly expected to announce his departure on his program Thursday afternoon.
According to Mediaite, who exclusively reported the story, Cavuto’s contract is expected to expire by the end of the month and he opted not to accept a new contract offered by Fox News. The host has come under fire in recent years for what critics call an antagonistic attitude toward President-elect Donald Trump. However, a source revealed to Mediaite that his choice to leave the network “has nothing to do with Trump.”
“New programming will be announced in the new year on Fox News and Fox Business, a source said. For now, Your World will be helmed by a rotating cast of anchors until a new show debuts. Coast to Coast on Fox Business will become FOX Business Live, anchored by rotating hosts, until new programming debuts,” Mediaite reported.
“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism, and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media,” Fox told the outlet in a statement. “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”
X users also wished Cavuto farewell, and for some, “good riddance”:
He will be remembered for pulling Lou Dobbs off the air on election night 2020, when Dobbs was calling out the fraud in realtime that was happening in AZ.

If I recall correctly, he spread lies about Ivermectin that may have cost untold lives.
He also dishonestly attacked Trump and every common sense American every chance that he got.
He is a cockroach and the light is being shown on him so he is running.

That’s awesome! Now I don’t have to change the channel at 3PM so I don’t have to hear his stupid nasally voice and listen to him trying to get guests to say negative things about conservatives.

This is the best news yet. @TeamCavuto is the absolute worse! Every time his show would come on or if he was on the air I would change the channel. It wasn’t just me, everybody I know said the same thing. He definitely hurt @FoxNews over the years more than helped.

Neil Cavuto had a knack for interviewing Democratic elected officials. They would appear on his show but not with any of the other FOX News hosts. I believe it is because, for the most part, he asked the Dems softball questions and seldom pushed back on their blatant lies.

Good riddance. I can’t stand Cavuto.

I think he will show up on MSNBC. If not there, CNN.
