The House Ethics Committee may be planning to screw Matt Gaetz by publicly releasing their smear report but he could ring in the new year with a wicked surprise.

On Wednesday, the news broke that the Ethics Committee – an unethical collection of Democrats and allies of deposed ex-Speaker Kevin McCarthy – voted behind closed doors to put out their slime job of Gaetz, a reversal of their previous position.

The abrupt shift has the committee set to launch its sleazy salacious sewage into the media as soon as Congress has wrapped up its voting for the year and blown D.C. for the extended Christmas break, guaranteeing that it will receive saturation coverage in what is typically one of the slowest news periods of the year.

Gaetz, who was forced to withdraw from consideration as attorney general after GOP senators refused to support him, tried to get out ahead of the report by reminding people that the allegations contained within were made by discredited sources and were given so little credence by Merrick Garland’s Justice Department that it passed up a chance to indict the loyal ally of President-elect Donald J. Trump.

“The Biden/Garland DOJ spent years reviewing allegations that I committed various crimes. I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED. Not even a campaign finance violation. And the people investigating me hated me,” Gaetz said in a Wednesday post to X.

“Then, the very “witnesses” DOJ deemed not-credible were assembled by House Ethics to repeat their claims absent any cross-examination or challenge from me or my attorneys. I’ve had no chance to ever confront any accusers. I’ve never been charged. I’ve never been sued,” he pointed out. “Instead, House Ethics will reportedly post a report online that I have no opportunity to debate or rebut as a former member of the body.”

The Florida Republican acknowledged that “My 30’s were an era of working very hard – and playing hard too,” and admitted that some of it was “embarrassing, though not criminal,” adding, “But at least I didn’t vote for CR’s that f**k over the country!”

But it was Gaetz’s next post that will likely have many lawmakers waking up with nightmares, and it won’t be the result of a visitation from the Ghost of Christmas past.

“Someone suggested the following plan to me,” he wrote. “1. Show up 1/3/2025 to congress. 2. Participate in Speaker election (I was elected to the 119th Congress, after all…) 3. Take the oath 4. File a privileged motion to expose every “me too” settlement paid using public funds (even of former members) 5. Resign and start my @OANN program at 9pm EST on January 6, 2025.”

The secretive details of the “slush fund” to pay off #MeToo accusers have been guarded like the crown jewels and could be extremely embarrassing to many if they were to see the light of day, perhaps even McCarthy’s buddies.

“It is the giving season,” he added concerning the “chaos” that could be unleashed if the settlements were released.

The reaction to Gaetz’s veiled threat from X users was one of encouragement.

Gaetz could become a living legend if he followed through on unleashing such a nuke, and then kicking off his new career as an OANN host right afterward.
