A collective sigh of relief was shared on social media as Vice President Kamala Harris’ self-gratifying cringe callback reminded people about the other bullet dodged in the presidential election.

Time will tell whether Election Night 2024 marked the end of Harris’ political career or as many have suggested it only meant a reprieve until she sought the spotlight once more in either a bid for California governor or the White House again.

While she treated her loss as only an “obstacle,” reactions to her reusing her “the context in which you exist” word salad had individuals praising God and thanking President-elect Donald Trump for booking her ticket out of Washington, D.C.

“And I ask you to remember the context in which you exist,” the vice president told a gathering of students as she spoke at Prince George’s Community College in Maryland Tuesday moments before laughing at her own remarks. “Yeah, I did that. Uh-huh.”

The rehash of the reference following a chronically online campaign was hardly as entertaining to others as Junk Science founder Steve Milloy suggested, “If you have not thanked “@realDonaldTrump today for saving us from this, please do so.”

Harris’ reference stretched back to a May 2023 ceremony where she’d quoted her mother as saying, “I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?”

“You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you,” she’d added at the time as supporters attempted to make coconut memes to aid her “brat” campaign.

After humoring herself, Harris went on to say, “I ask you to remember that this struggle is not new. It goes back nearly 250 years to Lexington and Concord. Generation after generation, it has been driven by those who love our country, cherish its ideals, and refuse to sit passive while our ideals are under assault.”

“This fight now, it continues with you. You are its heirs,” she told the crowd as she “challenged” them to rest and come back from the holiday ready to carry on after her loss that she insisted was only an “obstacle.”

Where others were concerned, it was a Godsend that rivaled the near-miss experienced by Trump when a wannabe assassin had opened fire at his July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

While some commented on her reputation for word salads and imagined what it would have been like had she actually been made the leader of the free world, a job some expected she would seek again, Juanita Broaddrick suggested a different future, “She should be forced to sit in a room alone and watch her own videos. She has the intelligence of dirt.”
