The fact that the majority of members of Congress have likely not taken the time to read over 1,500 pages of a spending bill dedicated to “special interest and pork funding,” proves that none of this is in your best interest.

So while the government is pretending they are jamming this through to help hurricane victims, which would not even be necessary had they not spent those funds on foreign nationals, that could not be further from the truth.

How does a 40 percent pay raise for Congress help people who have lost their homes in one of the worst natural disasters in years? How does expanding health benefits for public officials help anyone but them? And why is any of that something that needs to be jammed through?

Anytime Congress wants to rush anything it’s safe to conclude it’s not in the best interest of the American people.

According to the New York Post:

Musk also called on voters to directly call their representatives to “stop the stealing” of their taxpayer dollars in the “scam” bill.

“It’s full of excessive spending, special interest giveaways & pork barrel politics. If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO,” Ramaswamy added on X. “Congress has known about this deadline since they created it in late September. There’s no reason why this couldn’t have gone through the standard process, instead of being rushed to a vote right before Congressmen want to go home for the holidays. The urgency is 100% manufactured.”

The fact that Congress gets a pay raise after they passed legislation that created one of the worst inflation crises in modern American history is comical, yet a slap in the face to the people they pretend to represent.

So while some may argue that 1,500 pages is more transparent than one could have imagined, it’s actually intended to hide crucial details that are deeply unpopular with the American people. Additionally, the fact that the bill allegedly supports censorship operations proves how little this has to do with you and everything to embolden the bureaucracy before Trump gets in.

Congress does not vote in favor of censorship because it’s in the best interest of hurricane victims and it shows a lack of remorse to the people who need help the most. And to call that a slap in the face to Americans everywhere would not even begin to describe the insanity of all of this.

That being said, as Musk’s X bio says, “The people voted for major government reform.” And it’s exactly this reason why that is needed now more than ever.
