Canada’s finance minister announced her immediate resignation this week, a move that stunned many north of the border.

Chrystia Freeland, one of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s closest and most powerful allies, has publicly disagreed with Trudeau on several high profile issues facing the Canadian government recently.

Trudeau himself has faced increased calls to resign in what may be the toughest challenge of his 10-year time as PM.

Earlier this month Trudeau met with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Trudeau complained to Trump that his proposed tariffs will hurt the Canadian economy.

Since then, Trump has mercilessly mocked Canada as being the “51st state” and Trudeau it’s “governor”.

After the finance minister fiasco, Trump again broke out the “governor” burn.

At this rate, Trudeau might resign just to stop Trump’s “bullying.”
