Washington, D.C.– Today, the House holds a hearing with pro-life Americans and experts on how the Biden-Harris Administration weaponized its government against its ideological opponents, pro-life Americans.

The House Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government will hold the hearing titled, “Revisiting the Implications of the FACE Act: Part 2.”

The FACE Act was signed into law by Bill Clinton over 30 years ago. Supposedly, it was enacted to protect abortion businesses, places of worship and pregnancy centers from violence. However, based on the data since its inception, it has been applied unevenly in one direction. Today, it is a weapon of the Biden administration’s Justice Department to use against political enemies – specifically, pro-life Americans.

SBA Pro-Life America Director of Federal Affairs Jamie Dangers issued the following statement ahead of the hearing:

“For the past four years, the Biden-Harris administration weaponized the Department of Justice under the FACE Act to criminalize and incarcerate pro-life Americans. From a young mom to elderly grandmothers, and even a Soviet prison camp survivor, Biden’s DOJ ruthlessly targets and imprisons Americans who believe in the right to life for babies in the womb.

“Look no further than our nation’s capital. In March of 2022, pro-life advocate Lauren Handy discovered the remains of five fully-formed babies – the “DC Five” – outside of an abortion facility. Instead of investigating this abortion facility, for possible federal abortion crimes, Biden’s DOJ sentenced Handy to nearly five years in federal prison for violating the FACE Act. All the while they ignore repeated requests from Congress and the public for autopsies and investigation into the babies’ mangled bodies that still lie in a DC morgue. I am truly thankful for members of Congress, especially Rep. Chip Roy, for holding this hearing and exposing the targeting of pro-life Americans – both born and unborn.”
