A group of Senate Democrats have introduced a bill to abolish the Electoral College which is a familiar bugaboo every time that they lose a presidential election.

President-elect Donald J. Trump bested VP Kamala Harris 312-226, also winning the popular vote in a firm rebuke of the abuses of the Democratic Party, who crow about protecting “our democracy” while having little use for the real thing as they have repeatedly shown.

On Monday, the Senate Judiciary Committee led by Chair Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) announced their latest anti-constitutional shenanigans in a post to X that drew fierce backlash over the hypocritical attack on the scoring system that has always been used to determine the winners.

“In 2000, before the general election, I introduced a bipartisan resolution to amend the Constitution and abolish the electoral college. I still believe today that it’s time to retire this 18th century invention,” Durbin said.

One of the bill’s co-authors, Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) added, “In an election, the person who gets the most votes should win. It’s that simple. No one’s vote should count for more based on where they live. The Electoral College is outdated and it’s undemocratic. It’s time to end it.”

“Our democracy is at its strongest when everyone’s voice is heard — and right now our elections aren’t as representative as they should be because of the outdated and flawed electoral college. I’m excited to partner with my friends and colleagues Senator Schatz and Chair Durbin on this important constitutional amendment, which will help empower every voter in every state,” said Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT), the third stooge behind the abomination of a bill.

X users swarmed over Durbin and company’s power play only weeks before the Senate majority gets handed back to Republicans.

Durbin and the Dems’ yowling about the Electoral College was noticeably absent when Barack Obama handily won in 2008 and 2012. It reached a deafening pitch when Trump beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 and once again became subdued when Joe Biden was victorious four years ago.

It was Hillary who in 2018 advocated for ending the Electoral College after her defeat, firmly establishing the idea as the brand of sore losers.

Democrats would love nothing more than to eliminate the Electoral College which has worked exactly as intended by not allowing a few states with huge populations like far-left New York and California to decide who rules the rest of the country.

The bill is an attempted end-run around the Constitution, a document that the Democrats have as little use for as they do for actual democracy.
