Proving yet again that America may have dodged a huge bullet in November, it’s being reported that Satanists have erected a display at the Minnesota State Capitol.

The display has caused locals in St. Paul some alarm, and Republicans are blaming Governor Tim Walz for letting it go up in the first place.

“Is there anything Tim Walz won’t do to insult Minnesotans?” Rep. Tom Emmer wrote in response to the news:

Rep. Pete Stauber echoed similar sentiments:

The group who put it up, Minnesota Satanists, claim that they don’t even believe in Satan but simply see the display as a win for “religious plurality.”

For their part, Walz’s office is claiming that they do not agree with and did not approve of the display, but lack the power to remove it due to the First Amendment.

“…the First Amendment means that he does not police speech in the State Capitol. That’s true whether it’s a religious display, a political protest, or a Minnesotan advocating for a policy,” said a spokesperson for the governor in a statement to WCCO.
