President-elect Donald Trump asserted “something strange is going on” regarding the government’s statements on mysterious drone activity and offered a terse response on whether he’d been briefed.

Monday from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, the GOP leader offered a press conference after holding a meeting with SoftBank investment company founder Masayoshi Son. As he hit on a number of topics after announcing the firm’s promised $100 billion investment in the United States, the president-elect was asked to comment on the drones leading him to assert, “The government knows what is happening.”

“Look,” Trump continued, “our military knows where they took off from. If it’s a garage, they can go right into that garage. They know where it came from and where it went.”

“And for some reason, they don’t want to comment. And I think they’d be better off saying what it is,” added the once-and-future commander-in-chief after Biden administration officials had suggested they did not know the origin, but were somehow certain there was no threat.

When asked if he’d received an intelligence briefing on the drones, Trump revealed that he preferred not to comment on that, but joked that he didn’t want to spend the weekend at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

“I can’t imagine it’s the enemy, because if it was the enemy they’d blast it…even if they were late they’d blast it,” the president-elect suggested before noting, “Something strange is going on. For some reason, they don’t want to tell the people and they should.”

Previously, the GOP leader had joked about former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) ordering fast food as the source of the activity while also commenting seriously, “Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”

Over the weekend, as a number of politicians advanced the need for passage of a bill that would authorize the government to “Seize, exercise control of, or otherwise confiscate an unmanned aircraft system or unmanned aircraft,” as multiple airports were disrupted, podcast host Joe Rogan also shared a video that had him “genuinely concerned.”

The content included a theory from Saxon Unmanned founder and CEO John Ferguson who suggested the drones may have been searching for something, like “gas leaks, radioactive material, whatever,” after reminding everyone that a number of nuclear warheads dating back to the Cold War had been missing from Ukraine for years.

Monday, former U.S. Navy SEAL Shawn Ryan shared the video as well, revealing that the man had been offered an opportunity to speak on his podcast.

However, Ryan went on to explain contact from an FBI officially associated with Ferguson had given him pause until he could have other details verified.

“After my original post a contact [Ferguson] had at F.B.I. contacted me to give me a little more information on John. I expressed I would at least need the source on how he came across this information which he was unable to produce. Due to unverified information, I am not able to host him on the show,” said the SEAL. “This does not mean he’s not correct, and we informed him he can in fact produce where his information came from I would gladly reconsider and host him.”
