Justine Bateman, the former actress of Family Ties fame, made an interesting observation about the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson by a former Ivy Leaguer, which is that amongst all the celebration from the anti-capitalist left, things have been relatively quiet on the gun control front.

The author and filmmaker called out the left for its “selective activism” in a post shared on X.

“The murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was the first time I can remember where a shooting wasn’t immediately followed by a demand for gun control. Selective Activism,” Bateman wrote.

Luigi Mangione was arrested for the ambush killing of Thompson and he had commented on social media about suffering a painful “life-altering injury” to his back, although he did not appear to have a health insurance policy with UnitedHealthcare, according to various reports.

There has been a cult-like embrace of Mangione on the left for killing Thompson, a white male. This is the same cabal that screams for gun control when a person of color falls victim to gun violence. The hatred of the healthcare insurance racket is a driving factor here.

Turns out, after President-elect Donald J. Trump was wounded by a would-be assassin, there was also an eerie quiet among gun control fanatics.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
