Just one year ago, Michael Cassidy decapitated a statue of Bahomet at the Iowa Capitol in Des Moines.

But that hasn’t stopped the Satanic Temple from trying to mock Christians once again at Christmastime in Iowa.

This year they had an entire Satanic bash planned at the capitol, complete with Satanic carols and a Krampus costume contest. But for some reason Iowa decided to cancel the festivities.

‘We have made every effort to work with them (Iowa DAS) to ensure a successful event, but after over two months on the official Capitol events calendar we have been informed that our event will no longer be allowed,’ the Satanic Temple of Iowa announced on social media.

‘Our goal was to promote tolerance and acceptance of diverse religious beliefs, with a theme of finding a light in the darkness and welcoming the darkest nights of the year with joy and camaraderie,’ the post said. ‘We are no stranger to obstacles in advocating for religious pluralism and freedom of speech, and we will continue to fight for the rights of Satanic Temple members and our local community.’

But when the Capitol stewards with the Department of Administration Services spoke on the issue, they painted a different picture.

‘After careful consideration of administrative rule and DAS policy, I determined the totality of the event request to include elements that are harmful to minors and therefore denied the request,’ Adam Steen, the director of the Iowa DAS, said in a statement to the Register.

Governor Kim Reynolds weighed in on the controversy:

‘Our state government is always going to be concerned about the wellbeing of children. The Iowa State Capitol Complex is a place that is open to the public, where children and families routinely visit. Because of this, the State’s event policy takes into consideration conduct that would be harmful to minors. This satanic event, which specifically targets children, is harmful to minors and so it was denied.’

Elements that were harmful to minors?

What does that mean?

Here are a couple of basic “rituals” of Satanism involving harming minors:

But even if you ignore those horrible “rites”, their selected Christmas tradition of Krampus the Christmas devil is about as anti-children as it gets.

On Christmas Eve, just like Santa, Krampus has a big red bag, but unlike Santa’s, which is filled with toys, Krampus’s is filled with children he’s stolen. He beats the children with reeds then carts them off to be eaten, drowned, or dragged to hell.

I can’t imagine why Iowa officials weren’t all on board with celebrating child abuse with the Satanists.
