Well, folks, it looks like we have a real-life Freaky Friday situation on our hands here. LeBron James can’t buy a bucket, and his son, Bronny, just scored a career-high 30 points in the G League.

It’s clear they’ve switched bodies after eating mysterious and magical Chinese fortune cookies. How else to explain?

LeBron has opted to take some time off from the Los Angeles Lakers for “personal reasons.” Lakers head coach J.J. Redick called it an “excused absence.”

Those “reasons” certainly appear to involve a horrendous shooting slump.

James has hit only 4 of 34 shots from downtown during his last seven games. At one point, he missed 20 straight three-pointers.

Redick told reporters that James has felt “gassed” as his age has caught up to him a bit this season, and the four-time NBA champion has actually asked to be taken out of a couple of games for some breaks.

LeBron James Struggles, Bronny Finds His Touch

While LeBron James is starting to shoot like Bronny, his son is starting to shoot like vintage LeBron.

The younger James scored a game-high 30 points on 13-of-23 shooting in his first G League road game for the South Bay Lakers. Despite his impressive performance, the South Bay Lakers fell to the Valley Suns with a score of 106-100.

Bronny, who has been sidelined for several weeks due to a bone bruise in his left heel, now averages 14.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists across his four G League games.

I always knew this kid was going places. Just kidding, it was one game, and it is the G League, after all. Think about this: James shot 13 for 23 to raise his FG percentage to just a tick over 40%.

He had been shooting 29% prior to that.

LeBron James isn’t just abandoning the Los Angeles Lakers; he has abandoned all of his followers on social media as well. The Lakers star recently announced his exodus due to all the negativity he had been experiencing.

Recent reports have also revealed that James’ media and entertainment company, SpringHill, has faced significant financial challenges, losing nearly $30 million in the previous year despite revenues of $104 million.
