President Joe Biden has been calling press lids earlier and earlier in the waning days of his presidency, but before he shuffled off for a weekend nap, he managed to issue a press release in recognition of the 12th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. In it, Biden expressed his pride over his record on gun control legislation.

President Biden marked the 12th anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut on Saturday with a fresh pitch for Congress to act on gun reform legislation.

Biden in a press release touted his administration’s efforts to combat gun violence but argued that there was more to be done — especially as his presidency enters the final stretch.

Good luck with that. In 2022, Biden managed to push through his so-called “gun safety” legislation on the heels of another horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. The law supposedly enhanced background checks for people 18-21 who wish to purchase a gun, made straw purchases of firearms a federal offense, and “clarified” the definition of a licensed firearm dealer. In other words, more useless regulations that no one will bother to enforce, especially now that his regime is coming to a close. Biden made the outrageous claim that his work for gun safety has made the country safer and reduced school shootings.

“After four years under my administration, homicides are down, crime is falling, and we are seeing fewer mass shootings. This progress is no accident,” he continued. “Still, more must be done.”

“Congress has an obligation to ‘do something’ in order to protect our children and communities from this scourge of gun violence,” the president wrote. “We are the only nation experiencing this epidemic and there are common sense policies that the majority of Americans agree with, and that Congress can easily take action on.”

Excuse me? This year alone, there have been 38 school shootings, many in states that have strict gun laws, like Illinois and California. Biden also failed to address the pathology of the perpetrators of these shootings that occurred under his watch: namely transgender Audrey Hale, the Tennessee Covenant Christian School shooter, and a free Palestine whacko who shot two kindergarteners at another Christian school in Sacramento. See the pattern here? It’s not the gun laws. But past is prologue, and that’s all Biden will fixate upon to prove his point that his gun control legislation will define his presidency.

“Jill and I still grieve this unimaginable loss and continue to pray for the victims’ families and others traumatized by this senseless violence,” he wrote. “Many individuals impacted by the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School have turned their pain into purpose.”

“The legacy of this tragedy is one of great loss — but also hope,” he added. “Twelve years ago, moms sitting at their kitchen counters went online, expressed their outrage, and organized for commonsense gun safety legislation.”

Yeah, Moms Demand Action, bought and paid for by Michael Bloomberg, has been real effective (not) in trying to recruit new legislators to do their bidding.

I just told the anti-Constitution lobbyists to leave Kentucky alone

Moms Demand Action is a dark money, anti-liberty organization.

Their questionnaire makes you sign a loyalty oath to oppose the Second, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Amendments.

They want to leave you defenseless. I refuse to surrender your constitutional rights, so this is what I sent back to these gun grabbers.

The special interests are going to come after me for standing up for your Constitutional rights, so I am asking for your help!

And Alex Jones, who became a scapegoat because of his ill-advised commentary on the Sandy Hook shooting, is still alive, well, and now suing the parents. If this 12-year anniversary signifies anything, it’s that gun control policy and the symbols used to further it hold as much relevance as anything that emits from Biden’s mouth.

Since 2022, 29 out of 50 states have enacted Constitutional Carry, and President-elect Donald Trump made a campaign pledge to sign legislation for concealed carry reciprocity should he be elected. So, here we are, and any dreams by Biden of more gun control legislation are just that. But, he still thinks he has sway and say over federal policy, and his handlers are allowing him to run with this delusion.

In his latest pitch, he listed universal background checks, red flag laws, safe storage requirements and bans on assault weapons — like the one used in the Sandy Hook shooting — as first steps.

The remarks come nearly three months after Biden signed an executive order focused on gun violence prevention. Under the order, the administration aimed to crack down on 3D printed firearms — such as the ghost gun used in the recent fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson — and to improve active shooter drills at schools across the nation.

With 36 days before January 20, Biden and Co. are just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. Guess they need to occupy their time with something since actually running the country has not been high on the priority list. Just another day ending in “Y.”
