The annual Army-Navy football game that is set to take place on Saturday is going to have some prominent guests, including President-elect Donald Trump, Vice President-elect JD Vance and former Marine Daniel Penny.
The game will take place at 3 p.m. at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, the home of the Washington Commanders National Football League team. This season, Army is in the AP Top 25 and Navy was earlier in the year. The two teams have combined for 19 victories this season, the most ever entering this historic rivalry.
It was confirmed that both Trump and Vance will be attending the game.
Vance announced Friday that Penny would attend the game as his personal guest.
“Daniel’s a good guy, and New York’s mob district attorney tried to ruin his life for having a backbone,” Vance wrote on the social media platform, X.
“I’m grateful he accepted my invitation and hope he’s able to have fun and appreciate how much his fellow citizens admire his courage,” the post continued.
Penny was acquitted Monday by a Manhattan jury, after he put a homeless man in a chokehold on a subway last year, which prosecutors argued resulted in the man’s death. The man, Jordan Neely, was threatening to kill riders on a subway car.
There are other special guests expected in President-elect Trump’s private suite at the game Saturday, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, nominee for secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, nominee for Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
