Two of the best things to happen during the 2024 election cycle were the timely defeats of Reps. Cori Bush (D-MO) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY).
Even better was that their losses didn’t happen in November but instead in their respective primaries earlier this year even after some of their fellow Democratic Socialist colleagues in the House (like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) tried to do some heavy lifting on their behalf.

Voters in their own political party rejected the woke Squad members outright, opting instead for more “moderate” (by Democrat standards) nominees who would go on to win in the general election.

On Thursday, both Bush and Bowman gave their farewell speeches in the House, with both of them including pro-Hamas messaging because of course they did:
“It has been the honor of my life to be your congresswoman, Missouri’s 1st District,” she said through choked speech. “Mom and Dad, I know you’re proud.”
“From St. Louis to Gaza and everywhere beyond and in between, always remember this congresswoman loves you and will always have your back even if it means I lose something,” she added.

Rep. Bowman in his closing address said there is “much more to come” from him before making an appeal to “free” his constituents in New York.
“Free Palestine, free the Bronx and free all marginalized people,” he said.
What was perhaps most fitting during their sendoff, however, was the fact that there were only a small handful of Squad members – and no one else – on hand to witness their speeches:

The good news is that in about a month, they’ll be gone from Congress. The bad news is that we still have a month before their Congressional exit.
Will there be any more fire alarm stunts? Will we hear any more from Cori Bush about how she deserves taxpayer-funded security while the rest of us should be fine defunding the police?
It’s hard to predict, but one thing we do know for sure is on their last day in the House, waving “buhbye” to them is going to feel really, really good.
