The murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has brought out two stark reactions, and one professor is realizing that her actions have consequences.
Many on the left have taken to celebrating the death of Thompson, accusing him of being directly responsible for the deaths of poor people by denying coverage for their medical procedures. Effectively, they believe that he had it coming and the man accused of taking his life is being lauded as some sort of hero or martyr for the oppressed. Social media is awash in such vitriol, but a University of Pennsylvania professor found out the hard way that not everyone is a socialist like her.
Julia Alekseyeva, an Assistant Professor of English and Cinema & Media Studies, recently made some of her social media accounts private after posting a celebratory TikTok that seemed to fawn over the man suspected of shooting Thompson dead in the street.
DISGUSTING: UPenn professor Julia Alekseyeva celebrates the alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO’s assassin and that the murderer attended UPenn.
To anyone wondering how America’s youth becomes so radical to murder someone, it is because of the extremist professors. pic.twitter.com/j2LlgaSAZf

“In one TikTok, Alekseyeva, who posts under the name, ‘The Soviette,’ smiles while playing the song, ‘Do You Hear the People Sing?’ from the famous musical Les Miserables,” Fox News reported of the post. “The text on screen reads, ‘Have never been prouder to be a professor at the University of Pennsylvania,’ she wrote, replacing the ‘E’ in Pennsylvania with the number 3.”
On her own website, Alekseyeva identifies herself as “a socialist and ardent antifascist” whose work “reflects her values.”

@UofPenn I hope President Trump takes away every bit of your funding. Colleges and Universities in the US that have professors as disgusting as Alekseyeva should all be closed immediately.

Wouldn’t give a penny to U-Penn.
My family members were accepted there, and turned them down.
It’s a dirty campus, with crazy, illiterate professors, like this “woman”.@upennlib @upennrels @PennMEHP— California (@MaryAnnJaxBeach) December 10, 2024
So where are all the calls for UPenn to take action. Do they not have a morality clause in there employment contract?

@UofPenn is this what your institution represents? The celebration of murder by your faculty. No wonder people increasingly are distrustful of “higher” education institutions.

Is this accurate, @PennEnglish? I like to think it’s not so, but it might be worth looking into.
Having such a seemingly malevolent and unhinged professor educating students might end up affecting your accreditation.
We would certainly not want the alumni to see this if it were…

Wow.
You asked how Luigi Mangioni was radicalized ?
Here’s your answer.
It’s our schools, Our universities !

I’m guessing UPenn will find her continued employment there problematic. Why would you post this if you wish to remain employed?
