Adam Schiff broke irony meters on Tuesday when he wagged his finger at President-elect Donald Trump over the targeting of political opponents. According to the incoming California senator, it is deeply inappropriate for Trump to even mention the possibility that crimes may have been committed during the Biden administration.

SCHIFF: I don’t think the incoming president should be threatening his opponents with jail time. That’s not the kind of talk we should hear from the president in a democracy nor do I think that a pardon is necessary for the members of the January 6th committee.
Did Adam Schiff ever criticize Joe Biden for directly calling for Trump to be thrown in jail? Maybe I missed it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I didn’t. Never mind that no such call is necessary to hold the Biden administration accountable for weaponizing the Department of Justice in an attempt to imprison their primary political opponent during an election. Actions speak far louder than words in a situation like that.
The hypocrisy here is just off the charts, to the point that it would be comical if it weren’t so serious. We just lived through eight solid years of Democrats, from congressional members to presidents, calling Trump a criminal and actively calling for his indictment. Yet, those same people want to wag their fingers at any Republican who suggests having legitimate investigations into possible abuses of power.

How do I know? Because Schiff has a history of “threatening his opponents with jail time.”

SCHIFF in 2018: On the day Donald Trump leaves office, the Justice Department may indict him.
SCHIFF in 2019: I’m very strongly I favor of indicting the president when he is out of office.
SCHIFF in 2024: I don’t think the incoming president should be threatening his opponents with jail time. That’s not the kind of talk we should hear from the president in a democracy…
This is what Democrats do. They go crazy while in power, weaponizing various departments against their political opponents and possibly breaking laws in the process only to demand a return to “norms” the moment they lose. It’s very convenient. It’s also not going to happen.
Trump was not elected to bring back “norms” nor to gloss over the abuses of the Biden administration. He was elected to change the status quo, from the economy to how government operates. Those who actually did try to throw their opponents in jail, as Schiff describes, are going to learn the principle of sowing and reaping. Whether criminal charges are ultimately brought or not, investigations will be happening. Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, both of which appear to be cruising to confirmation as the heads of the DOJ and FBI, will see to that.

Lastly, note that Schiff says he doesn’t believe the members of the January 6th committee need a pardon. Well, that’s great, because accepting a pardon is a choice. If it’s offered, surely Schiff will turn it down, right? Right?
