The State of New York is giving residents barely a fraction of the money back that they endlessly waste, with officials claiming this is somehow supposed to offset inflation.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul unveiled two checks, one for $300 and the other for $500. The former will be given to people making up to $150,000 a year, while the latter will be given to families making up to $300,000. This comes after the state constantly spends tax dollars on the most useless things, while you have to pay a toll just for “entering the Congestion Relief Zone in Manhattan.”

Why does she “unveil” the checks as if New Yorkers don’t know what they are? Clearly, she thinks residents are as dumb as her.

In 2023, Watchdog groups Reinvent Albany and Citizens Budget Commission released a report titled, “Lump Sum Warning.” This report found “$14.8 billion in proposed lump sum pots in Governor Hochul’s Executive Budget, including $8 billion in COVID emergency pots that are not subject to review by the State Comptroller,” according to the Yonkers Times.

The groups said public dollars should not be spent through lump sum appropriations that increase the risks of waste, distortion of priorities, low return on investment, and corruption.

But don’t worry, as residents may or may not be getting back $300 out of that nearly $15 billion wasted.

Hochul does not actually care that residents suffer under inflation, which is why she does what she can to tax people into oblivion. This woman has done nothing beneficial for New Yorkers, while she welcomed the world’s migrant population with open arms.

New Yorkers would be a lot better off had they had better leadership serving them but unfortunately, they may or may not be dealing with one of the most corrupt governors in NY history.
