Jokes about Canada becoming America’s next state under President-elect Donald Trump continued on Truth Social after a meeting with “Governor” Justin Trudeau.
Trump is known to have a sharp wit and a great sense of humor which he showed off after meeting with Canada’s prime minister. After previously joking that America’s neighbor to the north could become “the 51st state” Trump again made reference to Canada becoming a US territory.

“It was a pleasure to have dinner the other night with Governor Justin Trudeau of the Great State of Canada. I look forward to seeing the Governor again soon so that we may continue our in depth talks on Tariffs and Trade, the results of which will be truly spectacular for all!” Trump wrote.
As Trump gears up to take the Oval Office for a second time, talk of tariffs has garnered the attention of various world leaders including Trudeau. It remains to be seen if Trump can reach a favorable agreement with presidents and prime ministers around the world that would put America first.
Meanwhile, X users reveled in the humorous suggestion:

Trump is such a BOSS.
How he can eviscerate a person and send such clear and decisive messages is brilliant.
I’m almost waiting for people who don’t get it to call him stupid and try to correct him, saying that Trudeau isn’t a governor and Canada isn’t a state.— Mindy Flynn (@FlynnMindy41281) December 10, 2024
Congrats Canada on your impending liberation!!
