Should our top leaders be one stumble away from death?
Mitch McConnell is 82 years old and has been the power broker for Senate Republicans for well over a decade. He says he plans to serve the rest of his term through 2026, but people are concerned about a noticeable decline in his health.
More from The Hill:
McConnell was escorted back to his office by Senate Republican Conference Chair John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), who hosted the lunch meeting.
Barrasso told a senator that McConnell had fallen after the lunch, shortly before his weekly press conference.
A medical team transporting a wheelchair was spotted following McConnell into his office.
McConnell is set to become the chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and the Rules Committee when the new Congress is sworn in this January.
