The left’s war on Donald Trump has always relied on creating a series of hoaxes that, when woven together, created an image of Donald Trump as HITLERSTALINMUSSOLINI insurrectionist Putin-loving Russian spy who ate Muslim children while plotting to put truth-seeking journalists and freedom-loving Democrats in jail.

The Russia collusion narrative was a hoax bought and paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign, coordinating with the Obama administration, the FBI, the CIA, and the Pravda media. And even when the major elements of the hoax were exposed as lies by the collapse of the Mueller probe, the media and Democrats never let it go. 

To this day millions of Americans are still convinced that since there was so much smoke there, there must have been a fire. 

A few months ago, I was listening to Coffee With Scott Adams, which I often do, and he suggested that somebody start a website dedicated to exposing the many hoaxes that have been concocted to slander Trump. And soon enough, one such site did pop up. I can’t say definitively that the Adams suggestion led to the creation of Americandebunk.com, but whether it did or not, the idea was good and the execution has turned out to be impressive. 

So much of what people believe about Trump is driven by Narratives™ created by the media and Trump’s enemies. Since we all get our information through some filter or another–none of us has a synoptic view of the world or direct insight into how people think, after all–the creative manipulation of those filters can radically alter how somebody sees the world.

While nobody can be completely objective and no filtering mechanism is perfect, it is also true that bad actors working to manipulate others can create a false reality that is purposely created to deceive. It’s one thing to be wrong; it’s another to be a deceiver, and Trump’s enemies are deceivers. 

The key to the left’s success in weakening Trump for years and its recent inability to continue effectively slandering Trump is its control over the Pravda media. Until recently. the Pravda media has been able to control the flow of information, massaging it, shaping it, hiding some facts while emphasizing others, and creating a Narrative™ that controls how people think about others and issues. 

The apex of the elite’s ability to perpetrate hoaxes was reached in 2020-21, when, through a massive coordinated effort, the academic, cultural, political, and media elite created a hysteria that closed down society, got Joe Biden elected, redistributed wealth from the bottom and middle upwards, and remade society in fundamental ways.

Alphabet ideology reined supreme, BLM, Defund the Police, censorship, and medical tyranny were on the march. All are based on lies, exaggerations, weird reframings, and selective editing of reality. 

The lies of 2020 turned out to be overreach, as was the pursuit of imaginary “crimes” committed by Donald Trump. The original hoaxes were outrageous, but since they focused mostly on one man, it was easier to manage the flow of information. The COVID-era hoaxes couldn’t be maintained as easily because we all have direct experience with the economy, the costs of pandemic-era policies, the failures of Biden’s policies, and all the other things about which we were being gaslit.

People have become more open to the idea that the accusations against Trump are hoaxes because we now see that almost everything the elite is feeding us is a lie. 

I like the idea of American Debunk. Like community notes on X, it is a way that ordinary people are fighting back against The Blob. Good on them.
