This is a real headline from a real news outlet called The Nation:

A blanket pardon of all of our illegals, ey?

It’s hard to decide what’s more unhinged: Joe Biden’s mental state during the final days of his administration, or the insane wishlists churned out by journalists trying to get as much of their ridiculous agenda done as possible before Biden is put out to pasture.

And this article from The Nation’s Chris Lehmann is making it a close-run fight.

Lehmann mentions the pardons of Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Donald Trump, and now Joe Biden – while (of course) diluting the unbelievable 11-year-long preemptive pardon for all crimes of Hunter Biden as, “Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter on gun and tax charges.” They also paint the potential pardon of “imaginary henchmen” such as Anthony Fauci, Adam Schiif and Liz Cheney as a “response to Trump’s clear mission to inflict legal vengeance on his detractors during his second term.”

In English, that’s “Republicans pounce!” with a few extra words.

But after the waaah Trump is going to try and jail us, and we’d never do that! stuff, Lehmann gets to the meat of his “modest proposal”:

To redeem the use of the pardon power, Biden should disburse it far and wide. One obvious use of it, which would yield robust moral and political benefits, would be to grant a preemptive pardon to undocumented (and documented) immigrants now facing the prospect of indiscriminate mass deportation when Trump takes office next month — people who entered the country illegally within the last 20 years, who are currently awaiting an asylum decision, or are under the age of 12.

Lehmann even calls out the Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, for special protection.

And despite the fact this might be “legally fruitless” because of the “MAGAfied federal court system”, Lehmann argues that “A bold bid to upend the Trump White House’s mass deportation agenda out of the gate would send an unambiguous message that Democrats will go to great lengths to prevent the further spread of fascist rule and xenophobic lies from a cynical and morally bankrupt GOP.”

“Let him use the long-discredited power of the pardon for the democratic protection of a huge population of workers poised to be unjustly demonized and banished from the country in a burst of fascist retribution,” Lehmann concludes.

Please, say “fascist” more, libs. It’s doing wonders at the polls.
