It’s been a tough couple of years for former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney (R). First, she served as vice chair on the House J6 Committee, and despite some underhanded tactics and Hollywood production values, they failed to convince voters that the events of January 6, 2021, were their top priority or that Donald Trump needed to be thrown behind bars for his alleged role.

Then she got shellacked in her 2022 reelection bid, not even making it past the primaries. Voters from the Cowboy State weren’t too impressed with her job on the J6 Committee, evidently.

Still not tired of losing, Cheney endorsed Democrat appointee nominee Kamala Harris for president and even campaigned with her. As we know, Trump crushed Kamala in both the electoral college and popular votes. Thanks, Liz.
She will soon find out that Democrats will trot out any Republican who will criticize another Republican, but then they will turn on that person once their usefulness has expired, which Cheney’s most certainly has.
Desperate for attention, Cheney is back to spouting off baseless narratives about her nemesis, Trump, after the president-elect told NBC that J6 Committee members should go to jail “for what they did.” Liz vented in a statement:
“Here is the truth: Donald Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election and seize power,” Cheney said in a statement provided to The Hill.
“He mobilized an angry mob and sent them to the United States Capitol, where they attacked police officers, invaded the building and halted the official counting of electoral votes. Trump watched on television as police officers were brutally beaten and the Capitol was assaulted, refusing for hours to tell the mob to leave,” Cheney said.
“This was the worst breach of our Constitution by any president in our nation’s history. Donald Trump’s suggestion that members of Congress who later investigated his illegal and unconstitutional actions should be jailed is a continuation of his assault on the rule of law and the foundations of our republic.”

There is such much wrong about this over-heated rhetoric, starting with the fact that on Jan. 6 Trump called for his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” Hardly a call to overthrow the government.

“…For what they [J6 Committee members] did, honestly, they should go to jail,” Trump said.
The J6 Committee was a sham from start to finish, starting with their hiring of a Hollywood producer and continuing from there to histrionics and false narratives. There are stories that Biden might issue preemptive pardons for Cheney and others for their actions, but as many are asking, why would she need a pardon if she did nothing wrong?

Liz Cheney’s act has grown tired, and the election results show that Americans simply aren’t buying the inciteful, way over-the-top language that she, cryin’ former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger and others like newly minted Sen. Adam Schiff (D) keep spewing out. It’s time to complete the transformation and head over to MSNBC, Liz, if they’ll have you.
