That is what Tom Cotton says:
I expect our Republican Senate is going to confirm all of President Trump’s nominees.
— Tom Cotton (@TomCottonAR) December 9, 2024
Of the 72 cabinet secretary nominees since the Clinton transition, only 2 nominees have ever received NO votes from the president-elect’s party.
No one should be surprised that the Republican Senate will confirm President Trump’s nominees.

Neither of those “no” votes occurred in 2021, when every Democrat voted to confirm every Biden nominee.
The Democrats are smearing various Trump appointments, starting with Pete Hegseth, not because they have any particular objection to them, but as part of their effort to denormalize Donald Trump. Every other incoming president gets his nominations approved, but Trump? He’s different. The usual standards don’t apply. That is the message they are trying to send. It is 100% political, and it would be disgraceful for Republican senators to fall for it.
