Megyn Kelly offered her own response to claims she’d be leaving her current “gig” to partake in a network rivalry with a conservative competitor to “The View.”

Even before the accelerated advancement of artificial intelligence had the public second-guessing the implausible made to seem wholly realistic, rumors, allegations and outright fabrications were commonplace. Friday, as one such report claimed Kelly would be taking a new role at CBS to compete with ABC’s daytime talk show, the commentator made certain to quell the story.

“This is a lie. And so is the BS about yours truly and Candace Owens doing a show on CBS. Why on earth would I leave the gig I have??”

According to the report from Read Update, “A New Era of Conservative Women Begins Here” as the SiriusXM host would supposedly team with “The View” veteran Elisabeth Hasslebeck to “counterbalance” the tripe dished out daily by the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin.

The story claimed the upcoming show, dubbed “The Morning Right,” was “set to premiere in early 2025” and “aims to fill a perceived gap in the market by providing a platform for conservative voices often overshadowed in mainstream media.”

Further details suggested it would feature “political commentary, cultural discussions, and interviews with high-profile guests from politics, entertainment, and business.”

“The View has long been a dominant force in daytime television, known for its panel of diverse women engaging in lively debates on hob-button issues. However, its left-leaning stance has often alienated conservative viewers. CBS is positioning The Morning Right as a fresh alternative, offering what they describe as ‘balanced, insightful conversations’ from a conservative lens.”

Following Kelly’s reaction, knocking down the report that she had any project in the works where she’d work with either Hasselbeck or Owens, one reaction begged the question, “Why in heavens name is @megynkelly even responding to a story on a website that is run by a bot and was launched 3 months ago?”

To that she remarked, “[Because] I get asked every day about this and the other rumor.”

While the claims about Kelly rivaling “The View” on CBS may have been fabricated, the perspective of the daytime talk show was widely agreed on, an issue that Bill O’Reilly recently argued would likely force the hands of the parent company, Disney.

Reacting to podcaster Jillian Michaels reference to the product as “nothing but propaganda and vitriol,” the longtime commentator said, “That has hurt ABC News because ABC News controls ‘The View.’ So I’ve been on ‘The View’ 20 times, but that was when Barbara Walters was there. That hatred didn’t exist. You still had Behar and Whoopi. You had them, but they were kind of not censored, but there was a different feel to it.”

“Now it’s like, you’re head’g going to blow off,” added O’Reilly who went on to suggest Disney would have to take over. “It’s all about emotion for the ladies. They live in a giant New York City emotion bubble. Living in a bubble is not good for anybody. So they hear every time, every place what they want to hear. They believe what they want to believe. It’s a comfort zone. It’s kind of like a little tranquilizer.”

Kelly, meanwhile, had no trouble countering what was being reported across corporate media, including a recent rebuke of coverage of President-elect Donald Trump’s defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth.

After Mediaite had published the opinion headline, “Unemployed Gen-Xer’s Mom Makes Some Calls So He Can Be Secretary of Defense,” she captioned the editorial, “That ‘unemployed Gen Xer’ served multiple combat tours in Iraq & [Afghanistan] earning two Bronze Stars. His mom was made into a [national] story against her will by [The New York Times], & then virtually all other media. It’s called fighting back. Which a soldier knows how to do.”
