Some Democrats and the media are intensely lobbying outgoing President Joe Biden to issue a slew of “protective” pardons but not all members of the left-wing party are in their usual lockstep over such an abuse of power.

Biden’s been a lame duck ever since he was overthrown by his own party elite and replaced with Kamala Harris – who got thumped in the election – but he could go out with a bang that doesn’t involve starting a nuclear war by pardoning the likes of Liz Cheney, Jack Smith, Nancy Pelosi, Gen. Mark Milley, and Dr. Anthony S. Fauci to prevent them from being held accountable once the Justice Department changes hands.

The dishonest octogenarian got the ball rolling last week when he unexpectedly gave his crooked ex-crackhead son Hunter Biden a sweeping pardon that not only saved him from being sentenced on his recent federal gun and tax convictions but also immunized him from prosecution for an entire decade, going way back to 2014, the time when he was hired by Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings even though he had no industry experience.

With just six weeks to go in his presidency, the “Big Guy” could be set to pull the trigger on the unprecedented pardons but despite the media cheerleading, there are some Democrats who aren’t down with the idea, and they’re starting to speak out.

“We should be curtailing pardon power. Our party needs to be the party that’s reforming pardons to have some guardrails on it,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) said. “And I don’t think Democratic presidents should be using these powers.”

“To the extent they are going to be using it, they should be using it for people who are being convicted of marijuana possession and being in jail. I mean, come on, people who’ve served in Congress or Senate or the Justice Department, these are some of the most privileged people in the history of humanity,” the progressive lawmaker added, according to The Hill.

“This is not a discussion we should be having, and the fact that we are having this discussion is a reflection of the incompetence and dangerousness of some of Donald Trump’s nominees — not all of them, but some of them — and that is where we should be putting our focus, not on whether President Biden is going to take the extraordinary step of trying to preemptively protect people from political retribution through the weaponization of our criminal system,” Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) told the outlet, cautioning against what would be an explosive move.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) says that he would “strongly oppose” Biden issuing pardons to people who haven’t been convicted of any crimes.

“The way to stand up to a bully, like Donald Trump, is not to run and hide. It’s to confront him. And that’s what we ought to do if they misuse the Department of Justice,” he told CNN. “I believe the way to confront Donald Trump is to put together a defense team, and a defense fund. I’d be happy to join it. And what we should do is support those people, who are potentially in jeopardy.”

“There’s a number of names that Department of Justice has sent up. They’ve been approved, they’ve gone through the application process, and they’re ready to go. I’m hoping he’ll sign those. Many of them are nonviolent offenders, marijuana offenses, stuff like that. I think this is the kind of way he should use his pardon power,” said former prosecutor Rep. Glenn Ivey (D-MD), suggesting that Biden stick with pardoning those who were actually wronged.

Other Dems are fully on board if Biden decides to pursue such a flagrant abuse of power on his way out the door with Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) referring to FBI director nominee Kash Patel’s book “Government Gangsters,” in he listed 60 people who “must be held accountable and exposed in 2024.”

“I think that would be a good idea. In fact, I think he should take a look at the book his FBI nominee, Kash Patel wrote,” the New York Democrat said. “He should probably pardon everyone on that list.”
