President-elect Donald Trump on Monday endorsed Republican National Committee (RNC) treasurer KC Crosbie to be the next co-chair of the committee, after his daughter-in-law Lara Trump resigned.
Lara Trump announced that she was stepping down from the post earlier Monday, amid speculation that she could fill Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio’s seat in the upper chamber when he resigns if confirmed as secretary of state.
The president-elect praised his daughter-in-law’s time on the committee, which she served alongside chairman Michael Whatley, but said Crosbie would be a “tremendous co-chair.” Donald Trump has also endorsed Whatley’s bid for reelection as chairman.
“KC has served on the RNC with distinction, as the RNC’s Treasurer and the National Committeewoman from the Great State of Kentucky,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “As Treasurer, she helped the RNC smash every fundraising record in History, and fortified our Party’s financial foundation.
“KC has been with me from the very beginning, helping REAL Republicans get elected across the Country, and would be a tremendous Co-Chair of the RNC,” he continued. “KC will work on continuing to ensure a highly functioning, fiscally responsible, and effective RNC that makes Election Integrity a highest priority. KC Crosbie has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Co-Chair of the RNC!”
The incoming president also announced his ally and adviser Harmeet Dhillon will be Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice, and Mark Paoletta will return as General Counsel of the Office of Management and Budget. Paoletta will also work with the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“Mark is a brilliant and tenacious lawyer, who worked tirelessly to advance my Agenda in the First Term,” Trump said. “As OMB GC in my First Administration, Mark led the charge to identify funding to build the Southern Border Wall, and worked with then-OMB Director Russ Vought to rein in woke and weaponized Government spending.”
“Mark is a conservative warrior who knows the ‘ins and outs’ of Government – He will help us, Make America Great Again!” he added.
