A recent report from the right-leaning think tank, The Heritage Foundation, shows that almost all Fortune 500 companies still maintain incentives for “diversity, equity and inclusion,” also known as DEI.
Among those companies are Nike and UnitedHealth Group, according to Fox News.
Nike, as an example, has a page on its website about “representation and pay” that states, “NIKE is focused on its workforce representation, starting with women globally and racial and ethnic minorities in the United States.”

However, Walmart has been one of the companies that has rolled back on its DEI statements.
A spokesperson for the company told Fox News that Walmart wants to give everyone a fair shot who applies to the company.
“Our purpose, to help people save money and live better, has been at our core since our founding 62 years ago and continues to guide us today,” the spokesperson said. “We’ve been on a journey and know we aren’t perfect, but every decision comes from a place of wanting to foster a sense of belonging, to open doors to opportunities for all our associates, customers and suppliers and to be a Walmart for everyone.”
Other companies among the 485 out of the Fortune 500 that still have these incentives are Mastercard and Hewlett Packard.
Jonathan Butcher, the lead author of the Heritage report, said he thinks Americans are waking up to the racially discriminatory elements of DEI practices.
