President-elect Donald Trump’s slated sitdown with NBC News’ Kristen Welker on Sunday is not the first time the two will meet in a one-on-one interview setting, but given her history as a longstanding Democrat propagandist, it should be the last.

If Trump’s team thinks a Russia collusion hoaxer like Welker is capable of a fair conversation about the president-elect’s second-term policy goals or his “controversial” Cabinet picks, they should think again. The once-registered Democrat and daughter of Democrat donors does not try to hide her penchant for partisanship.

It was during her first pre-taped sitdown with Trump in September 2023 that the White House correspondent repeated several Democrat talking points.

When she wasn’t using her first time hosting NBC News’ activist show “Meet The Press” to spread falsities or interjecting to “fact-check” the then-presidential candidate, Welker was lying about abortion in an effort to aid Democrats’ extreme and unpopular agenda.

As Federalist Editor-In-Chief Mollie Hemingway noted at the time, Welker’s first abortion question “sounded like it could have been written by Planned Parenthood, in which she pushed the false pro-abortion claim that directly and intentionally killing an unborn child in the womb is sometimes medically necessary for women.”

Her most egregious behavior in that interview, however, was on full display when she interrupted Trump’s true statement about Democrats’ abortion through birth aims to deny it on the blue party’s behalf.

TRUMP: Democrats that say, after five months, six months, seven months, eight months, nine months, and even after birth you’re allowed to terminate the baby —

WELKER: Mr. President, Democrats aren’t saying that. I just have to, Democrats are not saying that.

Contrary to Welker’s insistence, elected Democrats across the U.S. not only routinely call for abortion without limits, but they vote for and hinge their campaigns on it. Some, like former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, have even endorsed letting infants born alive after botched abortions die without resuscitation or intervention.

Prior to her 2023 encounter with Trump, Welker used her position as moderator of the second presidential debate of the 2020 election cycle to shut down discussion about the Biden family corruption news that had the potential to change Americans’ votes. She let Biden get away with the blatant lie that “my son has not made money [on] China” without blinking an eye but ultimately cut off Trump’s mention of Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” in order “to stay on the issue of race.”

Even before that, Welker made a career out of not just running interference for her preferred party but doing everything she could to distort Trump and Republicans’ words, actions, and policies. Her years-long badgering of the president — from the White House press briefing room and MSNBC and NBC sets — wholly disqualifies her from interviewing Trump or any Republican ever again.

Given Welker’s history of being a shameless activist disguised as a journo, it is safe to assume that her pre-taped interview with Trump will only do Democrats favors. Already, her allies at other corporate media outlets like Politico have hinted that she does not “fact-check” Trump enough.

Trump and his team did a decent job on the campaign trail icing out corporate media in favor of alternative and conservative media that would treat him fairly. His appearances on podcasts like “The Joe Rogan Experience” and “This Past Weekend with Theo Von” are even thought to have boosted his performance at the November polls. They would do well to maintain that same approach now.

Instead of giving a known partisan hack the benefit of one of the first corporate media sitdowns since his presidential victory, Trump should tell Welker (and every other press propagandist) that she’s permanently fired from interviewing him.
