Preemptive pardons for those who are on Trump’s radar – people who “haven’t committed any crimes.”

President Joe Biden’s senior aides are conducting a vigorous internal debate over whether to issue preemptive pardons to a range of current and former public officials who could be targeted with President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House, according to senior Democrats familiar with the discussions.

Those who could face exposure include such members of Congress’ Jan. 6 Committee as Sen.-elect Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming. Trump has previously said Cheney ‘should go to Jail along with the rest of the Unselect Committee!’ Also mentioned by Biden’s aides for a pardon is Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who became a lightning rod for criticism from the right during the Covid-19 pandemic.

When the Democrats saw Kash Patel making his way toward the FBI they panicked. And now Biden seriously might pardon random people that Patel could go after in his position as head of the FBI.

Historically speaking, the only comparable pardon to these ones would be Gerald Ford’s preemptive pardon of Richard Nixon.

Joe Biden has not been considered for one of these blanket pardons, and no president has ever pardoned himself, but after he pardoned Hunter it wouldn’t be surprising to see him pardon himself.

Who knows how many years he’d need to go back!

If I had to pick one of these pardons to actually happen, I’d guess it would be a 40-year blanket pardon for Anthony Fauci. Robert Kennedy Jr. wrote an entire book on Fauci’s shenanigans, and still hasn’t received a lawsuit from Dr. Fauci for defamation. That’s telling.

As the Democrats always say, nobody is above the law.
