…NYPD detectives said they were working to determine whether the words were meant as a message from the shooter and a hint at his motive.

The fact that wide swaths of the internet that are celebrating, or at the least joking about murder, shows that there’s no shortage of scorn for medical insurance companies.

Let’s review the facts:

This man waited for CEO Brian Thompson outside a hotel in Manhattan all night.
He concealed his identity.
He used a suppressed pistol to fire three rounds into Thompson.
When his gun jammed due to a misfeed, he calmly cleared the jam, fired the second and third shots, then casually walked away down the street.
He branded his bullets with messages.
He had an escape plan that has allowed him to evade police for 24 hours and conceal his identity in the largest U.S. city.
