The House on Thursday voted to pass pro-small business legislation known as the “Prove It Act” in a 208 to 196 vote.
The purpose of the legislation, also called H.R. 7198, would seek to protect small businesses from major regulations.
“The bill also requires agencies to publish, and allow for comments on, all guidance documents with respect to any rule an agency determines is likely to have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities,” a description of the legislation reads.
The bill is supported by conservative small business groups such as the Job Creators Network.
“This legislation would protect small businesses from regulations that disproportionately hurt them,” the group wrote on the social media platform, X.
