Former national security adviser John Bolton was among the parade of slimy character assassins who were trotted out to attack Kash Patel.
On Saturday, President-elect Donald J. Trump ended weeks of speculation when he announced that the outspoken critic of the Federal Bureau of Investigation was his choice to head up the agency.
The news was greeted by howls of outrage and the smear machine roared into high gear on Sunday morning with Bolton issuing a statement to NBC flagship “Meet the Press” likening the “America first fighter” to one of history’s most notorious communist thugs.
Trump’s former National Security Advisor John Bolton tells @NBCNews:
“Trump has nominated Kash Patel to be his Lavrenty Beria. Fortunately, the FBI is not the NKVD. The Senate should reject this nomination 100-0.”
We’ll have more coming up today on @meetthepress.

Sticking with the narrative that Patel would act on Trump’s behalf to exact vengeance against his foes, Bolton dropped the name of Lavrentiy Beria, the head of Stalin’s secret police whose motto was “show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”
“Trump has nominated Kash Patel to be his Lavrentiy Beria,” Bolton proclaimed, with regime media muppet and MTP host Kristen Welker sharing the asinine statement on X.
He also called for the Senate to not confirm him, “Fortunately, the FBI is not the NKVD. The Senate should reject this nomination 100-0.”
Clapping back at the knuckle-dragging neocon cretin was Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) who mocked his dismal track record.
“John Bolton has been wrong about everything so I guess Kash must be pretty awesome,” the vice president-elect said, sharing a post from CBS’ “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan who also put out Bolton’s statement.

And Bolton is wrong. If there is anyone who is like Beria, it’s Attorney General Merrick Garland who sent current FBI Director Christopher Wray’s goons on a Gestapo-style raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in 2022, an unprecedented police state action against a former President of the United States.
The walrus-mustached ex-bureaucrat had previously trashed former attorney general nominee Matt Gaetz as “the worst nomination for a cabinet position in American history,” during an actual appearance on “Meet the Press” with Welker last month, also posting his disdain on X.
Elon Musk reacted by correctly pointing out, “John Bolton, who is a staggeringly dumb warmonger, being against someone is a great sign!”

Trump’s no fan of Bolton – who he fired – and has referred to him as “one of the dumbest people in Washington.”
Despite his long history of failure and disgrace, Bolton is a favored guest of cable and network media because he’s an unprincipled bad actor who lies shamelessly, a trait that ensures he’ll be sought after for the duration of Trump’s second term.
