Prominent GOP voices are unloading on President Biden for past claims that he would not pardon his son Hunter Biden before leaving office next month. Hunter was found guilty of both tax and gun crimes and was being investigated for much more.

Critics zeroed in on Biden’s past statements, including one post on X in which the POTUS claimed: “No one is above the law.”

“This aged like fine milk,” Texas Senator Ted Cruz said.

“You’ve been lied to every step of the way by this Administration and the corrupt Biden family. This is just the latest in their long coverup scheme. They never play by the same rules they force on everyone else. Disgraceful,”  Rep. Steve Scalise shared.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, who is investigating the Bidens, issued a statement on the pardon.

“Joe Biden has lied from start to finish about his family’s corrupt influence peddling activities. Not only has he falsely claimed that he never met with his son’s foreign business associates and that his son did nothing wrong, but he also lied when he said he would not pardon Hunter Biden. The charges Hunter faced were just the tip of the iceberg in the blatant corruption that President Biden and the Biden Crime Family have lied about to the American people. It’s unfortunate that, rather than come clean about their decades of wrongdoing, President Biden and his family continue to do everything they can to avoid accountability.”

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene shared her thoughts on why the pardon covered all the way back to 2014.

“Joe pardoned Hunter all the way back to 2014 when Hunter started bio labs in Ukraine, started with Burisma, and began money laundering through dozens of LLC shell companies through business deals in many foreign countries including China. Hunter is not just Joe’s son, he is his business partner, and Hunter sold his Dad’s power and influence for millions while Joe was VP and beyond. That’s why the wide-sweeping pardon from 2014 to now.”

Senator-elect Bernie Moreno also unloaded on Biden for his decision, saying that it’s ridiculous for the president to claim the justice system was politicized — it’s his DOJ.

“Joe Biden oversaw a Department of Justice that quite literally made harassing and imprisoning President Trump and his allies their top priority over the past four years- And now he’s the one complaining about the politicization of the Justice System?”

Even Community Notes had to correct Biden’s old tweet that “No one is above the law.”

“On December 1, 2024, President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, for crimes covering nearly 11 years of “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.”
