Good morning, and welcome to RedState’s “Morning Minute” — a brief glimpse at which stories are trending at the moment and a look ahead at what the day may bring. Consider this your one-stop shop for news to kickstart your day. My apologies for getting a bit of a late start on it today, compliments of insomnia and guest-hosting morning radio — but let’s get to it.

TOP O’ THE MORNIN’
Tom Cotton Sends Letter to Lloyd Austin Telling Him to ‘Knock off the Nonsense’ Obstructing Trump
The obstructionists, thinking they can disobey commands from the president because they’ve personally ascertained them to be unlawful, need to go as well.
Bill Maher Chides Media: Trump’s Win Proves US Isn’t As ‘Divided,’ ‘Racially Tribal’ As Scolds Claim
Anyway, on Sunday’s installment of Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, he was joined by ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith for a fascinating interview, during which Maher blasted the Democrat Party over being “ideologically captured by identity politics.”
Too Many Democrats Still Operate In the Old Way and It Highlights How Abusive They’ve Been
The new media is you. It’s the citizenry. It’s the people that don’t run in elite circles. It’s you and me.
WHAT’S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill…
All’s quiet on the Capitol front. It’s Thanksgiving break, so the turkeys are off shaking their tailfeathers with family and/or in their respective districts. That hasn’t kept some prominent members of Congress from weighing in on world events, of course. For instance, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) blasted Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin over rumors of DOD Trump-proofing. And Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) even dared to call out a fellow Democrat, levying criticism at California Governor Gavin Newsom for excluding Tesla from EV buyer credits out of political spite.

White House What’s Up
No public events for President Joe Biden this Wednesday. He and First Lady Jill are celebrating Thanksgiving in Nantucket, Massachusetts, at the home of David Rubenstein (co-founder and co-chair of The Carlyle Group).
Full Court Press…
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals made it official Tuesday and granted the Department of Justice’s request to dismiss its appeal of the classified documents case (as to President-elect Donald Trump only). The case remains pending (for now) against Trump’s co-defendants, but one wonders what position the incoming Trump DOJ will take on the Special Counsel issue (particularly since the No. 2 and No. 3 guys will be the attorneys who represented Trump in that case).
I failed to mention this yesterday, but evidence in the Daniel Penny trial wrapped on Monday and they are now on a break for Thanksgiving. They’ll return Monday, and the parties will deliver their closing arguments.
The Mississippi Supreme Court runoff election race held Tuesday still hasn’t been called.
MORNING MUSING
Bob Hoge wrote on this Tuesday evening, but I have to add my two cents regarding Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent video…pep talk(?) to her supporters. Between the drab background, the drab pantsuit, the haggard appearance, and the word salad, I can only conclude that whoever suggested this and released it wants to ensure that Harris’ political career ends here. This…was not a good look. Rather than rested and refreshed from her Hawaiian vacation, Harris looked drawn and weary, and maybe even like she’d been imbibing. No one who is “for” her could have thought this a good idea.
