Former President Barack Obama is catching heat for his latest attempt to push “pluralism” on the American public.

Politics has divided voters in the United States over the last several years, and rhetoric has become so heated that President-elect Donald Trump had not one but two attempts made on his life prior to Election Day. But suddenly, following Trump’s decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, some on the left are calling for unity.

One of those voices belongs to Obama, who will be hosting a conversation about “pluralism” during his Obama Foundation Democracy Forum. The idea, he says, is to “build rules and habits that allow us to disagree deeply while still being able to live together.”

The former president’s message was not received well on X, particularly by people who remember what happened to America under his leadership:
