The Washington Post tried to pump oxygen into a Washington, DC-based resident’s weak attempt to establish an Airbnb blackout for President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The liberal newspaper reported that Stacy Kane is trying to start a grassroots effort to prevent Trump supporters from being able to access Airbnb properties during January’s inauguration events. As seen on Fox News at Night, Airbnb has responded to say this effort is unacceptable.

“Money talks, people are not that stupid when they can be making a profit for having somebody stay in their Airbnb rental,” the Federalist’s Brianna Lyman said. “But if this movement does get wind beneath its wind, Airbnb has to come out and determine what the repercussions are for hosts to want to create these political tests for prospected renters.

“If they don’t have an appropriate response, the American people certainly will, they did it to Target, they did it to Bud Light, and I think they will have no problem doing it to Airbnb,” she added.

Kane, who lists her home on Airbnb, is a 40-year-old charter school executive director, and she’s urging other Airbnb hosts in the DC area to either take their rentals off the market during this time or charge excessive rental prices — proving she is a liberal, Kane encourages like-minded zealots to donate the ill-gotten gains to nonprofits that support progressive causes.

The objective of her campaign of hate is to “show Trump supporters who are coming into the DMV that we do not welcome hate, misogyny, or intentions to take over DC,” according to an email she sent.

Unfortunately for Kane, cash is still king and most Airbnb hosts are opting to put profits before extreme politics, as only four other hosts have joined Kane’s weak boycott campaign — the Post found more than 950 rentals available for the weekend leading up to the January 20 inauguration.
