We still haven’t got this week’s podcast produced, but in the meantime wander on over to the “Political Questions” Substack for some corking new essays, all from me (partly because John Yoo’s computer crashed on our overseas trip so he can’t write his response to my latest riposte).

The site has five new long-form entries since our last update a couple weeks ago.

First, “From 40 to 47” looks at the continuities and differences between President Reagan and President Trump; I also have a third installment of my “Liberal Fragility” series, this time about the ruckus over conservatives (eeek!) at the University of Florida; the third item is my meditation on what the Musk-Ramaswamy DOGE effort can learn from the Grace Commission of the mid-1980s; fourth is my latest response to John Yoo in our “natural law versus positivism” debate.

But the main event is the last item, “Two Cheers for the ‘Common Good‘”, which is a review/aide memoir of a recent panel discussion over here in Italy between Lucretia, me, and Adrian Vermeule about his sensational and provocative book Common Good Constitutionalism. Which, I’ll add, is one of the topics of the next podcast, as soon as I can get it edited and posted.

So wander over to Substack for the moment. . .
