Hungary warned that allowing Ukraine to employ long-range missiles provided by the US to launch attacks deep inside Russian territory might escalate the conflict to a global level and criticized the US decision on Monday.

In a Facebook message, Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto called the White House’s support for Ukraine an “extremely dangerous” move that would escalate the crisis.

“Pro-war forces” in the United States, he said, are disregarding the will of the people, who want peace instead of more aggression.

“The pro-war mainstream has launched a final, desperate attack on the new reality,” he said, adding that the US decision could spark global conflict.

He criticized U.S. lawmakers for failing to recognize the growing desire for peace, calling the announcement “undemocratic.”

President Joe Biden gave his approval a week ago for Ukraine to employ US-supplied missiles to strike deeping into Russian territory, igniting fears that he is attempting to widen — and complicate — the conflict ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Biden’s decision comes as a sizable contingent of Ukrainian troops are already in Russia’s Kursk region after their invasions in the first week of August. According to Politico, these troops are anticipated to encounter a massive onslaught by North Korean and Russian forces.

Donald Trump Jr., meanwhile, claimed in a tweet that the “military-industrial complex” is trying to create chaos in the ongoing war.

“The Military Industrial Complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives. Gotta lock in those $Trillions. Life be damned!!! Imbeciles!” he wrote on X.

Others have ripped Biden for his decision as well, including top-rated podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Rogan criticized Zelensky during Friday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, cautioning that the military-industrial complex might be steering the United States toward World War III before Trump assumes office.

The warning comes amid heightened tensions between Russia and Ukraine, which escalated in November after President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied long-range missiles for strikes inside Russia. Rogan’s guest, American record producer Scott Storch, shared his perspective during the discussion, saying he felt “safer” knowing Trump would be in office for the next four years.

“What I don’t feel safer [about] is right now they’re launching missiles into Russia,” Rogan responded. “How are you allowed to do that when you’re on the way out? Like the people don’t want you to be there anymore. This should be some sort of a pause for significant actions that could potentially start World War III. Maybe that would be a good thing that we would like to avoid from a dying former president. The whole thing is nuts.”

Rogan then commented on Russia’s counter launch last week of a conventionally armed ICBM with multiple warheads targeting infrastructure in Ukraine.

“Zelensky says Putin is terrified. F**k you, man. F**k you people. You f**king people are about to start World War III,” Rogan said. “F**king insanity because those intercontinental ballistic missiles can have nukes on them. This didn’t, but if it does the whole world changes and it changes because the military industrial complex and it changes because of the money that’s going to Ukraine. It changes because the outgoing president, or whoever the f**k is actually running the country, has decided to do something f**king insane.”

Trump, shortly after his victory, reached out to both Zelensky and Putin, according to his communications director.

“As President Trump has said on the campaign trail, he is the only person who can bring both sides together in order to negotiate peace and work towards ending the war and stopping the killing,” Steven Cheung told the New York Post.
