DENVER, CO — Local mom Patricia McMullins, overwhelmed by a busy week of housework and raising her children, was reportedly hoping to unwind with a weekend of stressful activities that didn’t need to be done.

Sources said Patricia had been looking forward to the opportunity to make the weekend even more tiring and stressful than the rest of the week had already been.

“I’m so exhausted from dealing with the kids and keeping the house clean all week,” she confided to her husband, Mark. “I’m really looking forward to getting up early on Saturday and packing for a morning mountain hike, but we have to make sure we’re home by lunchtime before we go visit the pumpkin patch on our way to the family photo shoot I scheduled. Then, tonight, I need to rearrange all the furniture in the living room. Just think of how much fun it’ll be.”

According to friends and family, Patricia could hardly wait for Saturday to arrive and overwhelm herself with rewarding family fun that would build lasting memories while depriving the family of any opportunity to relax.

“If I don’t plan fun activities no one asked me to then my kids won’t grow up with memories of how stressed I am and I simply can’t have that,” Patricia said. “I just wish there were certain designated days people set aside to rest and recharge after a long, busy week.”

At publishing time, Mark McMullins had found himself in the proverbial dog house after suggesting that the family should just relax and watch some TV.
