Remember when Darrell Brooks mowed down a bunch of people at the Waukesha Christmas Parade, killing six?
Well, yesterday in Waukesha – three years to the day after the attack – a memorial was donated at Grede Park, the site of that terrible massacre.
The memorial was then added to Google Maps, but with the most disrespectful of titles.
Google named the memorial after Darrell Brooks, the man who killed six people on November 21, 2021.
This guy:
Just awful.
Probably submitted by some scumbag troll, but still, awful.
Google’s own website says users can partially alter Google Maps by submitting edits, but the edits are supposed to be reviewed by Google before being applied to the map.
Asked by WISN 12 News how this happened, a Google spokesperson said in an email ‘User edits are essential to keeping Google Maps up to date and we monitor around the clock to keep them reliable. As soon as the inaccurate name was detected, we removed it from our system – people are seeing this change roll out now.’
Someone at Google reviewed this “Darrell Brooks Memorial Park” and allowed it to go up on Maps.
That’s either pure laziness, or pure evil.
Such a shame.
