Elon Musk had a little fun with a report about Nancy Pelosi’s niece holding a cushy climate advisor job for the US government, suggesting in jest that there may be some merit behind the appointment.
Alexis Pelosi, 58, the wife of Pelosi’s nephew, Laurence Pelosi, works as a senior climate advisor at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), earning a salary of $181,648.00.
The niece was hired early on in the Biden regime’s ascension to power and has been in the role for nearly three years — her husband is a real estate attorney who operates out of Washington, according to the Daily Mail.
With Musk heading up the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), cost cutting will soon take center stage, and social media users saw this prime example of nepotism as low-hanging fruit, but the SpaceX CEO countered, tongue in cheek, “But maybe her advice is amazing.”

Alexis openly advocated for President Joe Biden’s reelection in a number of Facebook posts and shared the photo below on her page, even making it her profile picture for a while — interestingly, she did not advocate a single time on her page for the election of Kamala Harris after Biden was forced out — her aunt reportedly playing a key role in that ouster.
Social media users were quick to weigh in and based on their reactions, the feeling of job security may be waning in the Pelosi household.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on Musk’s free speech platform:
Can’t wait for DOGE to clean house.

I’m sure she is not feeling job security right now.

Those jobs are the political equivalent of mafia “no show” jobs at construction sites, but their guys still collect W2s as if they worked there full time.

I think you will find quite a few people on the payroll in jobs that don’t exist or shouldn’t exist, no matter how good her advice might be, and some of those are people who “work from home” in other words, ghost jobs.

Hi can I be an advisor for DOGE? My salary expectations are $1 million per year with a free Tesla Cybertruck.
