Fox News host Harris Faulkner stated Monday on Fox Business that Democratic governors who attempt to defy President-elect Donald Trump’s directives risk alienating voters and undermining their credibility by disregarding the “people’s choice.”

Since Trump’s Election Day victory, Democratic governors in Massachusetts, California, and Illinois have voiced opposition to the president-elect, pledging to push back against his strict immigration policies. On Kudlow, Fox Business host Larry Kudlow asked Faulkner about the current sentiment among voters, suggesting that there seems to be a strong desire across the country for Trump to succeed.

“Look, I don’t think that Democrats were wrong when they first tried to run Kamala Harris, and she had a decidedly very long honeymoon period, too. It just didn’t hang on when they first put her in over Joe Biden,” Faulkner said. “But they weren’t wrong that the country could use a little joy and uplift. Many, many people struggling just to get the groceries on the table and [are] still being told that they’re imagining their journey. So they weren’t wrong about that.”

“They just couldn’t sustain it because the facts were against them. So right now, I think that there is a sort of collective, OK, we’ve decided as a nation who the next president’s going to be. We don’t have to wait in limbo unless you’re in, like, some state, Senate, and House races, which they still haven’t called,” Faulkner said. “But you don’t have to worry about that with the president. So now the joy can begin of what’s next.”

Faulkner mentioned that Trump is being authentic to himself, highlighting the speed at which he has announced his Cabinet picks.

“He’s also being true to who he is. It’s the authenticity along the way. Of course, he’s going to go to the UFC championships at [Madison Square Garden]. Of course, he’s going to take that victory lap. There are going to be people there that might not have ever said they wanted to vote for him that did. Many of those people look like me. Many are Hispanic, Asian, as you mentioned,” Faulkner said.

“With putting the Cabinet together and hearing the push against him potentially on the Hill with lawmakers and then hearing these blue led state Democrat governors saying they’re going to defy the people’s choice and push against everything he does in their interest,” Faulkner added. “It’s rich. If they think they’re going to win back voters that way, they’re wrong. But the joy will reside on the right side of the aisle until the left decides to smile and move on.”

Less than 24 hours after Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 election, Democrats took to social media to call for resistance against his second term. While some openly urged defiance, others, such as Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James, vowed to continue pursuing legal cases against Trump.

As Trump unveils his Cabinet appointees, Democrats have been outspoken in their criticism of several picks, including Fox News host Pete Hegseth, former Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, and former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

RFK Jr., whose family name once reigned supreme over the Democratic Party, has been tapped by Trump to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, where he has vowed — with the president-elect’s support — to focus on improving child nutrition, among other priorities.

“We have a generation of kids who are swimming around in a toxic soup right now,” Kennedy previously told Fox News. “We’re letting these industries corrupt our agencies and mass poison them.”
