In 2020, in a sad show of political pandering, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and several other Democrat lawmakers took a knee in the Capitol Visitor Center, wearing African kente cloth scarves, to show solidarity with a drug addict and career criminal, George Floyd. Floyd’s death has been hashed over time and again, and there’s no need to repeat that discussion here. But the pandering by Congressional Democrats is interesting in light of another event– the Wednesday sentencing of Jose Ibarra, who was convicted of the murder of Laken Riley.

On X, women’s athletics advocate Riley Gaines wonders when any of these people will kneel for 18 minutes in the name of Laken Riley.

The response to Riley Gaines’ X post was, shall we say, spirited. Some examples:

The post concludes:

as he was instructed to do in training, with a concentration of Fentanyl in his blood at twice the lethal level.  Chauvin’s prosecution and conviction was mob rule, not justice.  Free Derek Chauvin and raze statues to the recidivist criminal.

In 2020, she graduated from River Ridge High School in Woodstock, Georgia, where she was a member of the cross-country team.

The answer, of course, is “never.” They won’t, and they can’t. If they did, they would just look worse. The hypocrisy shown by these… people beggars description.

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, along with their sycophants, knelt in fake African scarves for the death of a drug addict and career criminal. There’s just no other way to look at this.

There can be no soft-soaping who George Floyd was; he was accused of jamming a loaded handgun into the belly of a pregnant woman, he used and dealt drugs, and he died with an LD-50 (at least) dose of fentanyl in his system. He was a thug and his ending, in a conflict with law enforcement, was not surprising. George Floyd never contributed anything to society. He was a criminal, and had he not met his end in 2020, he would have continued being a criminal. The attempts to canonize this man are nothing short of disgusting.

Laken Riley was the complete opposite of George Floyd in every conceivable way. She was innocent, law-abiding, intelligent, and dedicated to pursuing a career in nursing, in which she would have been caring for her fellow people day in and day out. She went for a run early one morning and was subjected to a brutal assault. She was then murdered by a known gang member who was in the country illegally, and who had been in the hands of the government who knew he was in the country illegally. He was allowed to remain; Laken Riley and her family and friends have now paid the price.

So no, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer won’t take a knee for Laken Riley, and even if they did, their hypocrisy would be even more intolerable, as they advocated for the very lax border and immigration policies that allowed Laken Riley’s murderer to remain in the country.

UNREAL: ABC News Tries to Blame Donald Trump for Laken Riley’s Murder

This is a situation that has to change. Given the political nature of the Bay Area and New York, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will probably remain in their seats, until they fossilize, if that’s what they choose – and both of them seem well on the way to that end. But we can fix the lax border and immigration policies that allowed Laken Riley’s murderer to remain illegally in the USA; and Tom Homan, who President-elect Trump is putting in charge of fixing this, will not be taking knees, but rather kicking butts.
