The ex-girlfriend who provided crucial testimony in the Matt Gaetz sex trafficking investigation has been identified as Brianna Garcia, a former Capitol Hill intern and Democrat campaigner, the Daily Mail first reported.

Despite her previous involvement in the case, Garcia now praises Gaetz, suggesting he would serve effectively as Attorney General, a position he has been nominated for by President-elect Donald Trump.

Brianna Garcia, 28, has been revealed as the ex-girlfriend who testified before a grand jury in the investigation into allegations of sex trafficking against Matt Gaetz.

Garcia was once thought to be a key witness in the case who “gave secret evidence in the investigation into the Trump loyalist,” according to the sources in the Daily Mail.

The investigation into Matt Gaetz, initiated in late 2020 under then-Attorney General Bill Barr, relied heavily on testimony from former friends and acquaintances seeking to protect themselves—individuals whose credibility was highly questionable. Due to these concerns, investigators advised against pursuing charges in 2022.

By 2023, the Department of Justice officially announced it would not press charges against Gaetz, effectively closing the years-long sex trafficking probe.

In a recent interview outside her Tampa apartment, Garcia, now a mother and real estate professional, expressed reluctance to delve into details about her past relationship with Gaetz.

Garcia, however, seems supportive of Gaetz’s new path.

The Daily Mail reported:

Garcia confirmed to DailyMail.com this week that she was previously in a relationship with Gaetz, 42 – but would not reveal what she revealed about him on the stand.

‘I really don’t want to talk about a boyfriend from so long ago,’ she said, clutching a toddler in her arms outside her waterfront apartment in Tampa, Florida.

She added: ‘That’s like a past life now.’

The Gaetz sex trafficking furor was reignited last week when President-elect Donald Trump stunned the political establishment by tapping the Florida Republican for Attorney General.

His Senate nomination will likely be hotly contested but Garcia has no qualms about her former lover becoming the nation’s top law enforcement official.

‘He’ll be great for the country. Matt’s very smart,’ she told DailyMail.com.
