President-elect Donald Trump didn’t just win the 2024 election, he caused some serious disruption in deep-blue bastions as well.
Cook Political Report Senior Editor and Elections Analyst Dave Wasserman found that New York experienced an 11.5% pro-Trump swing, while New Jersey saw a 10.1% movement toward the Republican compared to his 2020 numbers.
Biggest swings towards Trump, by state (corrected from an earlier post):
1. New York 11.5%
2. New Jersey 10.1%
3. Florida 9.8%
4. Massachusetts 8.7%
5. California 8.4%
6. Texas 8.3%
7. Mississippi 7.7%
8. Rhode Island 7.0%
9. Tennessee 6.5%
10. Illinois 6.4%— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) November 18, 2024
These were the top two states that saw pro-Trump voting swings, but other states include Florida (9.8%), Massachusetts (8.7%), California (8.4%), Texas (8.3%), Mississippi (7.7%), Rhode Island (7.0%), Tennessee (6.5%) and Illinois (6.4%).

All blue states are going to be red in the near future!

Wow….looking more and more like a mandate. Even Illinois?? 2028 I could see NY or IL going Red
