CBS News’s “60 Minutes” was slammed as “an outdated relic” by President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming communications director.
Team Trump and other supporters of the incoming 47th president reacted with a scathing assessment of Scott Pelley’s criticism of Cabinet picks in the opening minutes of “60 Minutes.”
“This is exactly why we rebuffed @60Minutes for an interview during the campaign,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung wrote on X in reaction to the clip, referring to Trump’s refusal to sit down with Pelley in October after a deceptively edited clip of an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Their disgusting bias & unhinged ‘reporting’ are out of touch with everyday Americans who voted for President Trump,” he added, calling to “CANCEL” the show.

“This past week, Republicans won the House majority, and President-elect Trump made nominations to his Cabinet. Some nominees appear to have no compelling qualifications other than loyalty to Trump,” Pelley said on the show.
He went on to criticize Trump’s choice of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health and Human Services secretary, former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz as attorney general, former Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard as director of National Intelligence, and Fox News’s Pete Hegseth as secretary of defense.
“It’s up to the new Republican majority in the Senate to decide whether these nominees are equipped to represent the American people,” Pelley concluded after ripping the picks for having “no government experience.”
In a post on X, incoming White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote, “@60Minutes slammed Pete Hegseth tonight for having ‘no government experience’ NEWSFLASH: The Pentagon is full of people with decades of ‘government experience and they just failed their 7th audit in a row.”
Tom Bevan of RealClearPolitics said he “laughed out loud” when he saw the clip, adding, “No organization disgraced itself more this election than CBS News (though it was close.)”
Others on X also ripped Pelley and the show.

Sure was a lot of opinions presented in that opening piece. I guess the media has long forgotten it is supposed to only present facts.
