This is peak corporate media stuff right here.

The New York Times wrote up a piece on RFK Jr. and his campaign against ultra-processed foods and one fact check in particular stands out.

You may remember that RFK Jr. is not much for yellow dye.

Well, the New York Times couldn’t help it. They fact-checked RFK Jr. in the dumbest of ways, citing his stance on Froot Loops cereal as somehow inaccurate.

Check this out. It’s unreal.

Mr. Kennedy has singled out Froot Loops as an example of a product with too many artificial ingredients, questioning why the Canadian version has fewer than the U.S. version. But he was wrong. The ingredient list is roughly the same, although Canada’s has natural colorings made from blueberries and carrots while the U.S. product contains red dye 40, yellow 5 and blue 1 as well as Butylated hydroxytoluene, or BHT, a lab-made chemical that is used ‘for freshness,’ according to the ingredient label.

I mean, that’s arguing semantics if I’ve ever seen it! Literally a “he’s wrong but he’s right” scenario, but in this case we know the NYT is attempting to sway the reader away from RFK Jr (and the Trump camp as a whole).

I’ll admit, the writers were pretty fair to RFK Jr. the rest of the article. I’d highly suggest reading it here, because the way that the authors tip-toe around issues that they, as liberal women, agree with, is amazing to see.

For instance, these two paragraphs right here.

More broadly, Mr. Kennedy has set an agenda to root out what he considers corruption in the arena of government and public health, arguing that regulatory agencies overseeing food and drugs have been working hand in hand with corporate America to enhance profits rather than to benefit consumers.

Many of the issues Mr. Kennedy raises about healthier foods and on changing the practices of established industries through tougher measures have traditionally been pursued by Democrats.

Trump’s formed a coalition between Left and Right, and the mainstream media is having a tough time navigating through this.

This little fact check from the NYT is just the beginning. News coverage of Trump’s second term is going to be interesting to watch, as many of his associates now are left-leaning.

How will the leftist media continue to demonize a president who advocates for many of the things the Left has been advocating for for years?
