I just can’t believe that irresponsible right-wingers shared a rumor that it cost the Harris campaign a million bucks to have that Oprah town hall.

I mean, how insulting to say that Oprah could be bought for only a million bucks!

It was actually closer to $2.5 million.

FEC filings, first reported by the Washington Examiner, show the Harris campaign made two $500,000 payments to Winfrey’s Harpo Productions on Oct. 15, a month after Winfrey’s town hall with Harris and weeks before the pair appeared at a Harris Philadelphia rally. Now, two sources have told The New York Times the full price of the event with Winfrey was closer to $2.5 million.

Now, of course, we know that the Harris campaign didn’t “pay” Oprah for her endorsement. Oprah’s network was just paid millions to host an event that was, essentially, a Kamala rally with Oprah at the center.

And, sure, Oprah did endorse Kamala. But that was only a small part of the overall package, I’m sure.

Winfrey maintains she was “paid nothing” for her endorsement when confronted by TMZ. But her network did receive the millions in payment from the Harris campaign which was busy setting money on fire like the Joker.
