A “hopeful” message from the House Speaker to the American people came as a stern warning to foreign nationals about what was happening to the nation’s door.

“…because that is what is called for.”

Following nearly four whole years of a globalist open border policy under the Biden-Harris administration, law and order is expected to return to the United States’s ports of entry and everywhere in between.

Along with weighing in on President-elect Donald Trump’s plans for the millions of illegal aliens already stateside, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) made clear to all foreign nationals looking to cheat the system that “the open door is now being closed.”

The assertion came during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper Sunday on “State of the Union” where the topic of mass deportations was brought up.

“Do you think that the American people are ready for… if all — whatever it is — 20 million undocumented immigrants are deported, do you think the American people are ready for, not only the tremendous disruption in the workforce — in the economy, I think it’s like 5% of the workforce is undocumented — but also the fact that we’re gonna be seeing images of families separated, people taken out of the communities they’ve lived in for years? Do you think the American people are fully prepared for that?” asked Tapper.

Pushing back on the premise of the question, Johnson contended Trump sought to start with the “dangerous persons that we know are here,” as the president-elect has indicated his intention to “declare a national emergency,” and “use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program.”

“There are criminals, known criminals. There are known terrorists in the country. There are some who have been apprehended, apprehended for committing violent crimes after they have come across the border illegally,” said the speaker as he suggested the figure ranged from 3-4 million.

Calling out the intentional actions of the current administration regarding the border, actions that led to the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the lawmaker went on to respond to Tapper pressing him about foreign nationals beyond the criminals by bringing up the president-elect’s desire to “engage in the largest mass deportation effort probably in history, because that is what is called for.”

Reminding the host of the 20 million figure that was presented earlier, Johnson asserted, “We need to send a message to people around the world that the open door is now being closed and that we are gonna restore law and order.”

“And I think that’s what the American people are very hopeful and expecting that we will deliver upon,” he added. “And we will. And President Trump’s committed to it. He’s the leader to do it.”

Leaning into the narrative of “work that Americans don’t want to do,” Tapper argued about a potential negative impact on the economy from deportations only moments after acknowledging the mass influx of aliens was “sapping resources.”

Without pinning down any policy, Johnson maintained the need for work visas and legal immigration existed while also affirming, “We need everybody in this country to follow our laws. I don’t think that’s asking for much and I think that’s what the people want us to get back to.”
